About ProjectSunday

Project:Sunday - Challenge me to take 1 pic a week, on a theme decided by you, to help keep me sane.

To help my eating disorder recovery, apparently I need to submerge myself in more of the activities and hobbies I used to like, to keep me distracted and make life fun again. Now, I may not be convinced this will help, but to keep me motivated to try I've come up with this - Project Sunday. The idea is simple, but I need your help. I need you to set me a challenge each week.

-Make a suggestion for something for me to photograph.
-I will pick one suggestion at random each Sunday evening. I then have one week to produce a photo based on that word, phrase or idea.
-The result will be posted here each Sunday evening, and at the same time I'll pick the topic for the next week from your suggestions.

Your ideas can be anything - an abstract theme like 'love' or 'time', something literal like 'Your bus stop' or 'Shoes' - anything that comes to mind. Make it random, difficult, fun... anything you like. in return, I'll try my hardest to get off the scales, get out, and produce the best image I can .

But why?

At 26, I’ve found myself trapped in a cycle of anorexia and bulimia. Now, as part of my recovery and OT, I've given myself two aims:

1)Keep busy on Sunday night. At whatever cost, do not get bored, because Sunday nights are always the worst. After a couple of unstructured days, with the addition of boredom and the usual end of the weekend blues, it always seems like a binge is inevitable.

2)Increase activities that distract me from thinking about food and weight. As much as I am not motivated, I remember that I enjoyed photography, even if I don't feel it these days.

With your help, with something to distract me, keep me busy, create and feel proud of, maybe, just maybe, I can get a little better. I've chosen to go public and make this interactive because if I feel accountable it will motivate me to stick with it. So please, get involved and take part - set me a challenge, do your worst, and watch here for the result every Sunday.

Girl Sunday uses an unidentified old Olympus compact (serial number scratched off long ago...), and Picknik.
