'Transportation' -- Through the Eyes of Many -- WEEK FOUR Challenge!

OK...I've been tapped by Ought to be a Blonde for this week's challenge!

My notion for this week was "transportation."

Now, before you run out and take a picture of your car ;-) this could be regarding any form of transportation or something pertaining to transportation. Planes, trains, roads, signs, bike baskets, pedometers, etc.

I'll be very interested to see what people come up with...

and

to post it here, do the following: Bring the picture up on your browser (click on the picture itself). Along the top there will be an "all sizes" choice, click on that and then you'll be given an assortment of sizes. Click on "small" along the top, and now if you look at the bottom of the page, it gives you some html you can cut and paste into a reply to this discussion thread.

Serendipitously, today I was fixing the taillight on my truck, which broke while I was doing all sorts of transportation-related activities yesterday.

Here's my take:

To me transportation means my feet or my bike. Since the bike is away for the season : ( I've been walking.

I was running out of time to get a 'transportation' picture and decided to set my camera off with a nice long shutter speed while I drove home from work.

My contribution to the challenge:

I was intrigued by the sunset and took a bunch of pictures of it from the car. I happened to catch an airplane in the shot. I think the thumbnail looks really neat.. kinda like a shooting star or something.

here is my transportation shot- the good ol' nyc subway. aka. my daily routine, i love it as much as i hate it... but i'm pretty sure that's the general consensus.

I only have a car one day a week so this is 2/3rds of our transportation - just add another dog's paw into it.

This was a shot where I was glad to have the challenge to fall back on. I didn't take any pictures all day, and while I wanted to come up with something more unexpected for the transportation challenge, it was nice to have it bail me out on a day I didn't have anything else : )

A slight twist on the predictable. Bet ya' can't guess what kind of car I drive...
I was stopped at a light and looked down to see my reflection in the steering wheel- there's my "transportation" shot!

A little late...but here's mine for the challenge:

My various forms of transportation this past Tuesday. Start in Miami before dawn (pic #1), fly to SF (pic #2), ride the tram to the rental car terminal (pic#3) and pick up my sweet new ride (pic#4)

Are we allowed to do more than one shot for the challenge? I came across this scene this morning, and thought it caught the idea of transportation much more interestingly than my previous shot.

I'm on Day 22. Don't have them uploaded yet, but I took some bus and train photos, plus a sidewalk with a bunch of bus stops. I'll see how they came out when I get home. I don't drive so I take public transit everywhere.

I'm hoping to get a new camera sometime after the new year - maybe a kind of b-day present to myself. :)
