Hello,
Glad to have found your group here.
I have made a few presets of my own in Lightroom lately and have been looking for a place to share them.
I don't have a place to host the file so I'll just post it here.
The lightroom presets are just text files so you can easily copy this and paste it inot a text document, save, and then import into lightroom presets. Here's the description and actual settings:
The following is a setting I made that attempts to recreate some of the key elements found in many "Lomo" film photos, or Lomography as it is termed:

I'm new to LR and had to stumble my way into getting this one into LR. Here's what I did, let me know if there is an easier way for something like the preset in this discussion.

synopsis: create a preset, export preset, open exported preset with notepad, delete all text, copy and paste preset text from above, save, import preset

1. In the Develop module, click the Create New Preset (+) button at the top of the Presets panel or choose Develop > New Preset.
2. Click Check All to select everything or click Check None to deselect everything, and then click to select each of the settings to include in the preset.
3. Type a name in the Preset Name box, specify which folder the preset should appear in, and click Create.

The preset is added to the list in the Presets panel in the specified folder.

4. To export a preset, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) a preset and choose Export. Type the name of the preset template file and click Save.

5. Browse to the location that you saved the preset, right click, open with, note pad

6. Delete all text

7. copy and paste the preset text listed by the original poster, save file

8. To import a preset, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) the area where you want the preset to appear and choose Import. Double-click the preset template file.

Much of the above is from the LR help files. I thought some might be helped with the note pad/text file explanation.

Hey, Thanks everyone for giving my preset a go. I was impressed when i came back here and saw so many people bothered to try it out. Thanks, and I enjoyed seeing your photos.

For those of you having trouble figuring out how to import, You can now download the preset. You may have to right click, and 'save link/target as'. Import the file into the develop presets (I believe you can even just drag it there from your desktop or where ever).

Oh, and I'm about to upload another preset I'll post here in a bit.

@ojoyous: open an emtpy text editor file (assuming you use windows) copy and paste the whole "strange text" in the original post and save it as whateveryouwannacallit.lrtemplate ...then import into lightroom

Excellent preset. Thank you!

For anyone confused about copying the above script and pasting into a new file, make sure the file has .lrtemplate as an extension.

Hi I am a total newbie, and only speak english at this point (learning LR). I didn't see any s by s in the previous post, so this is for anyone as lost as me.
To import a preset:
1. One an editable photo in develop
2. Go to the bottom of the presets list on the left of the screen
3. Right click on User Presets. You will see two options - New Folder, and Import
4. Select Import
5. Find the file and double click on it. (remember it must have the extension .lrtemplate)
6. The name you gave the preset will now appear below the User Preset, and will be ready for use.

jaeming  Pro User  says:

I've had many many flickr messages asking me how to download the preset or import it since most browsers just open it as a text document instead of downloading it, so to make things easier and to hopefully stop those awful messages, here is a .zip link which also includes my other somewhat popular/requested preset (muted tone sub-pop):
seabubble.com/lightroom/presets.zip
That's two for the price of one and considering that price is free, that's a good deal!

And for the person who was requesting how to make this an ACR preset, well, here you go:
seabubble.com/lightroom/Lomo.xmp.zip
Now learn how to fish please...

Thanks again all who have enjoyed the preset! I haven't used lightroom much since 1.0! but I do use it occasionally now when I need to batch process a bunch of photos with a preset. I have actually developed some other presets though which I may release soon in some fashion.
