About Power of We

This group is for photographs from various events Power of We Volunteers take part in.

With the growing population and the growing number of problems concerning social and civic issues, Bangalore has been witnessing a huge churn in terms of groups and individuals wanting to make an impact and difference, as well as organizations needing support from such people. But there appears to exist a disconnect between these two faces, as often the potential volunteers do not know which organizations to approach in order to help and social organizations often face a problem with consistent and committed volunteer input. Also there seems to be a lack of integration among volunteers and organizations in order to work towards greater causes. The need really is to build a strong volunteer base within the city so that social organizations have a strong network to tap into and at the same time there is an enrichment of of the volunteer-base through exposure to varied kinds programs.

Power of We is an attempt towards such a volunteer-integration. We plan to bring together all individuals and groups who wish to make some kind of difference and present them with opportunities which exist across various social organizations and initiatives. In the process we hope to create a spirited volunteer base, experienced with working on different kinds of programs and issues.
