About Posts
Goalposts don’t have to be conventional, in-fact the more make-shift the better! people use allsorts of things for goalposts, bits of wood, trees, paint on a wall, traffic cones and of course ‘jumpers for goalposts’. Which totally sums up what this Flickr Group is all about.
In the spirit of the book this group is based on (see below) please only submit the following:
 Only images of football (soccer) goalposts (no rugby etc).
Ideally the posts should be framed nice and big in the middle of the shot.
No people/goalkeepers! in the foreground of the shot.
No images where an actual game of Football is being played.
Please label your photo with where in the world it was taken.
The inspiration for the setting up of this group came from the book "Posts by Neville Gabie".
A book of full-colour photographs of football goalposts around the world, taken by sculptor and photographer Neville Gabie. The improvised structures that have been erected, sometimes in the most unlikely landscapes, occasionally become things of startling and original beauty. Gabie has photographed posts in many countries: the deserts of Namibia, the urban wasteland of a Polish city and half-submerged in flooded Gloucestershire fields.
