About Postcards for Deb

For the past 15 years I have been collecting postcards from friends, colleagues, and acquaintances as they travel around the Globe. It started because my 5 year old nephew had a postcard fetish and asked me to bring him one postcard. His fetish lasted a month - mine has gone on a bit longer.

This is how it works; every time someone tells me they are going on a trip I ask them to *bring back* a postcard. I get a postcard for my collection and it ensures we get to see each other again. It's been a great conversation starter, networking tool and flirting thang.

Lately, my friends seem to be traveling SO much that it is hard to keep up. As a result, what started as a fun way to ensure we get together, has left my poor friends feeling guilty if they see me but have left the postcard at home - which is just not cool.

So, I have decided to do the next 'best thing to being there' - start a Flickr group. I have asked my friends to take a photo of themselves with the postcard until we meet.
So this is Postcards for Deb - a labor of love and my way to be grateful for the great people in my life!

Guidelines:
Post photo of postcard and/or you holding postcard
Make the description or title what you would usually write on the back of the card
Tag: postfordebs

Note: I am starting to scan all the old postcards and at some point I will add them to the group as well. In the meantime "Postcards for Deb" is my way to keep up!
