POSTE RESTANTE

[][][] things and places in anticipation of being needed and wanted again.

[][][] things and places waiting to be remembered.

[][][] in this pool, i hope to see images that depict something forgotten or left behind quite a while ago but not without hope of being desired and used again.

[][][] i'm not looking for photos of a cup of tea, left for a few minutes to cool down, or an old farmhouse so decrepit and broken down it has no hope of being revived.

instead, i'm looking for images of things and objects idle for quite some time, patiently waiting to be rediscovered.

poste restante: A notation written on a letter indicating that the letter should be held at the post office until claimed by the addressee.

etymology: french : poste, mail + restante, feminine present participle of rester, to remain.

[][][] in this collection of photos, let's follow the concept of 'poste restante', and not necessarily the literal mail-related meaning.

[][][] there are many wonderful related pools, such as old & forgotten, emptiness, abandoned, forsaken by society, forgotten, and others. but i hope you'll agree that only some of the images that belong in these pools would be ideally suited for poste restante.
