About Post-digital Glitch Collage
Exhibiting glitch-inspired compositions that explore our complex relationship with realness, human fallibility and the arcane.
Seeking post-digital images that are reminiscent of the electronic glitch and signal loss static we occasionally experience, inadvertently create and wish to evolve beyond. Participants render depictions of technological error by hand, and their art's human origin and attributes separate it from an art form that captures and crops the purely accidental. This in not art made solely by electronic devices.
We recognize that the ascendence of the digital imitations of things, of our easy forgiveness of desirable data being dispensed through globalization’s filters means that humans are becoming indifferent to being denied the real.
By transforming virtual information with the realness of the hand’s lack of precision and a metaphorical glitch-like error and then returning it to its simulated form (internet viewing), Artists in this group examine the boundary between realness and electronic distortion.
