About Portrait Gallery
Surprisingly there are not a lot of groups dedicated to quality photographic portraits or self-portraits (without a lot of rules on content or requirements to post comments). This group was created to allow flickr memebers share their best and most interesting portrait work (from their point of view). We are looking for portraits that capture the essence of their subjects. Please keep the content focused on portraits of people and please keep the content at the "safe" level. I will leave it to the members to define what they believe a portrait is, but I would suggest that while a great portrait is often candid it is always more than a simple snapshot. Let's use this group to explore the difference and share our ideas about what makes a great portrait so interesting.
