About The Flickr Portrait Gallery
The mission of The Flickr Portrait Gallery is to become the Hall of Excellence in regard to international portrait photography.
Core goals are quality, creativity, diversity and international
Each month The Flickr Portrait Gallery holds portrait contests.
Winners will be awarded with the FPG Gold Medal and invited to become a member of the elusive sistergroup The Flickr Portrait Gallery Hall of Excellence.
At the end of each year there will be an Annual Contest among the winners of a FPG Gold Medal.
The FPG definition of a portrait :
A portrait or self portrait is a photograph, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood and emotions of the person.

In December FPG is going to hold The Flickr Portrait Gallery Annual Contest 2009 among the winners of a FPG Gold Medal in 2009. Check for nominees so far thread FPG Hall of Excellence 2009: www.flickr.com/groups/portrait-gallery/discuss/7215761263...
The winner will receive the above FPG 2009 Award (of Diane Arbus) by Flickr Air.com on January 1st 2010.
