06 Jul 08 - Recent changes in the Terms of Service that ATT-Yahoo-Flickr impose upon members required me to remove all cartoons and photos from my photostream that were not directly produced by me. I'm sure you have received the same letter if you have many outside works in your stream, whether or not they were properly credited; whether or not they were from the 18th century!

So I am sorry to have removed my 260-some images from this group, and I will be closing down the group at the end of July, 2008.

About Political Cartoons

Cut and paste, under "Fair Use," any great cartoon with a political message--and some great ones without! Please change the license on your entries to "share and share alike" and remove the copyright symbol from your post. (It is already copyrighted by the artist)

As in most things political, there will always be disagreements on what is or what isn't political; what is or what isn't a cartoon.

Usually the entire term, "political cartoon," describes something with the ring of truth, and hopefully is funny. It does not mean it won't insult someone or hurt someone's feelings--but there should be truth to be had. If it is hateful, deceitful, nasty, mean, or any other number of negatives it will be deleted.

I have some smart people as admins, and we may disagree from time to time. We may even give you a notice to "remove" your item if we find it egregiously offensive and/or irrelevant to political discourse.

That is a friendly gesture that will not be used twice. There are hardly any political cartoons that will be pulled. But when it happens, it is probably best to post another one and get over it.

Otherwise you can utilize THIS SPECIAL AREA to post what ever "crap" won't make the grade here!
