Please read carefully before joining! The group is closely moderated and has a very specific purpose and procedure.

The project and the group is called “Points of view”.
It's pretty amazing how people turn raw pictures into completely different final images in the post processing. I thought it would be an interesting experience to see the same pictures retouched by different photographers, with their own retouching-preferences.

I am trying to raise a little issue about styles of retouching and create some kind of a society, more or less defined, of people who may want to get some inspiration ideas, want to share, ask, learn or maybe simply are curious what else could be done with the image.

I believe that a lot of people underestimate retouching in the whole image processing, as well as a lot of people get carried away. This is all about checking it out and broadening our minds! :-)

Originally it was a private project but looking at the interest in a second round, I thought I will move on to separate group instead of using my own account. So if you think that you would like to take part as a retoucher and photographer, give me a shout!

The procedure: I upload the chosen image to the group and send info to members (and/or new invited photographers) that the next edition has started (if you need other type of file, i.e. RAW, email me and I'll provide it if I have one). Everyone who participates is supposed to treat the image as their own and finish it off as they would do it with their own picture. No rules or restriction, just bear in mind that this is photography concept, so it would be good to stay within the field. The Retouchers are asked to change as much as they feel is needed, so if there are only small changes, and the image feels like finished, so be it. Also titles and comments under the pictures comes from the creators of the final versions.

All of that should take a week; "retouchers" can submit their final versions to the group as soon as they have them ready but not later than the week after original image appeared. After the week the edition is closed and any other participants can join next edition with next picture.

Pictures for retouching can only be submitted by members of this group. If you'd like your picture to be retouched - send me a message.
