About Point to Point (a book of antipodes)

Photos from opposite ends of the earth.

The idea of this book is to find photographers (professional or amateur) who can take pictures in particular locations around the world. I would like to create a book that contains as many antipodal pointsof the globe as possible.

This book will be the next in the series following the success of 14:42 GMT which brought together photographers from all over the world to take a picture at the exact same time.

Some Questions & Answers:

What is an antipode?
If you stand at any one point on the earth's surface and then dig down going directly through the centre (not recommended) and come out the other end you will get to the antipode of your original location.

Why do this project and put it into a book?
Why not?

Where will this book be available?
The book will be assigned a unique ISBN which will mean it will be available for book shops, online stores and libraries to stock. The book will be self published unless another publisher comes forward.

Who gets the money from the book?
All profits made from the sale of the book will go to a pre-selected charity. For the last book the profits went to The Rwanda project. Any suggestions are welcome!

Who can join the group/get involved?
The people who take the actual pictures will have to be able to get to/already live in the specific antipodal points that will be featured in the book. However, anyone can join this group to add suggestions, promotional ideas (to help get the charity as much money as possible) or just because the idea interests them.

What will the antipodal locations be?
These are still to be confirmed as there is some research to be done but for now, the rough list is:

I'm ready to take the picture, what do I need to do?
Wait! If you think you can take a picture at any of the above locations then please don't do anything yet. We still need to confirm the creative commons licenses (the photographer will keep the rights to their picture), the style of the photo (day/night etc) and many other things. For now, please go to this discussion and tell us which location you can take a picture of.
