About Pods- Targeting, ECM, Recce, etc.
Welcome to PODS, a group dedicated to the phenomena of aircraft underwing/fuselage pods: electronic counter measures (ECM), targeting, and reconnaissance. With a bit of work I hope this group can become the "go-to" place for identifying and posting images of pods from all military branches.
What is NOT a pod? fuel tanks; travel pods; integrated (non-removable) portions of normally pod-able equipment i.e. IRST sensors on F-14s and F-16E/F Block 60 Vipers (although the Sniper-esqe pod itself is OK); integrated sensor balls on HC-130s and A-6E TRAM II Intruders, antenna fairings on the fuselage of the F-105G Wild Weasel, etc. REMOVABLE is the key.
So scour through your images and look for others that might enjoy the group. Assistant admin help always appreciated, shoot me a PM for more info.
