play:space explores the skateboard scene of Newcastle, Gateshead and around about in north-east England. Local skaters have been doodling & scrawling maps of their days re-inventing the buidlings and streets of Tyneside. Pscyhogeography maps of favourite spots, legends, food, hates. And not a listed Dobson-Grainger building to be seen.

Yes, The skaters get banned, fined, excluded; maybe all because no one can make money out of you having fun for free.

A final map will be unveiled at Dance City in Newcastle on June 19th 2010, along with photos and video from local skaters. All welcome; come along to add your map.
