About Flora of Iceland

Þessi hópur er ætlaður myndum af plöntum sem lifa viltar í íslenskri náttúru. Tilgangurinn er að safna sem flestum tegundum af blómplöntum, byrkningum, mosum, fléttum og sveppum. Talið er að heildartegundafjöldi plantna og sveppa á landinu sé rúmlega 5000.

Members of this group are invited to post photographs of native and naturalised plants in the Icelandic flora. The intention is to build up a good representation of the whole flora, including not just flowering plants, but also ferns, mosses, algae and fungi.
There are more than 5.000 species of plants and fungi growing wild in Iceland so we have plenty of work ahead of us.
