24 Nov 11 - To reduce the effort I need to make to keep this group on topic I have instituted two changes. There is now a ten items per day limit and new submissions will go into a moderation queue.

Another way to think about this is to think of "Places worth caring about"

About Places without cars

Images of cities - and other human environments - where the car is not just absent, it is NOT ALLOWED.

We need to recapture our spaces that have been taken over by cars. Some areas are more proactive in this field than others. North America lags behind the rest of the world. But I think that a key factor in establishing urbanity is getting in the way of the cars. Or not allowing them in at all.
