I snapped this shot while wandering around the back streets of Chania last month. The unusual palette of color between the natural chroma of the flowers and the man-made colors of the architecture creates a strange beauty --a chromatic tension between color tones that usually "don't go together." It is the most "commented" image of my entire photostream.

This is an abandoned house at Oray (Ωρεοί) village at N. Evoia isl. in Greece. It used to be a whore house during the old times, as the eldery say! Nothing much of its past glorious days has remained now! only a bush of flowers climbing up its grey walls.

If you like doors... here you are!
It's a door that looks like overhanging the cliff... yet there is so much behind it.
It's a door that protects the magnificent view from the intruder.. and yet welcomes the visitor.
It's a door that asks you to dare open it with care... Fear not! There is not something bad behind it! But the view is awesome, so you should take care!
It's an open door of Oia, Santorini.

ανοιχτό παράθυρο σε μισογκρεμισμένο και έρημο σπίτι στη Μύρινα της Λήμνου. Αν και φαίνεται να σε προσκαλεί, "ανοίγει" στην ερημιά. Υποθέτω ότι το επόμενο καλοκαίρι δεν θα υπάρχει.

Πόρτα, παράθυρο, τραπεζάκι, καρέκλα, πλακάκια, διάκοσμος, τέντα, ταμπέλα, μενού... (σχεδόν) όλα σε άσπρο-μπλε...
Αν αυτό δεν είναι Ελλάδα... τι είναι;
Κι όλα μαζί! Το μόνο που είχα να κάνω ήταν να σταματήσω το περπάτημα, να προσέξω το συμμετρικό κάδρο (πήγα ακριβώς στη μέση για να συνθέσω), πρόσεξα να μην "μπαίνει" τίποτα παρείσακτο στο κάδρο και να μην "μένει έξω" τίποτα χρήσιμο... και ΚΛΙΚ!
Α, ξέχασα να πω και το μυστικό: Επειδή (λόγω πολύ ήλιου) είχα μεγάλο contrast, το εσωτερικό του μαγαζιού, αυτό που φαίνεται από την πόρτα και το παράθυρο, ήταν ΚΑΤΑΜΑΥΡΟ! Και ήταν "αμαρτία" να μην φανεί! Στο photoshop λοιπόν, "άνοιξα" λίγο το εσωτερικό για να φαίνονται οι λεπτομέρειες του εσωτερικού...
Λίμνη Ευβοίας, Ψαροταβέρνα "Το Φύκι".

This is one of the rare cases where all entries (except mine) have been absolutely stunning... It's been difficult to compete as it's been difficult to vote for only 4 of them and leave the rest emptyhanded...
