Help the Peaceful G-20 Protesters...
|

This is Marsha.
Right now, she's living in the city's Hill District in a tent to make people more aware of the plight of the poor in our country.
Marsha and about 60 other people will be here for the next few days during the G-20 Summit.
To get by they're relying on donations of food, water and paper supplies.
She says that Pittsburghers are pretty generous.
And I couldn't agree more.
Amazingly, she says that most of the donations have come from the local community...one of the poorest and most blighted in the city.
So here's the deal.
Anyone interested in helping can pitch in.
They're looking for fruits, snack foods, and a some balls and paper for the kids who are in the camp.
Marsha and her crew are at Wylie Avenue and Soho Street in the Hill.
You can drop off stuff anytime you want in the next few days.
Or you can e-mail me at Flickr — I'm making a run up there tonight with some stuff.
Marsha isn't an anarchist. Or a rock thrower.
She's one of those peaceful types that so many people here are worried don't get enough attention for their good deeds.
So let's shower her and the other with some much deserved attention.

I've got some surplus vegetables from my weekly CSA basket laying around. I'll try and make a trek down today or tomorrow, thanks for telling everyone.
On a related peaceful protest, the signs on Flagstaff hill protesting the genocide in Darfur are up. I took a few quick shots today with my P&S...
