Armed Forces Day children's art competition

Who’s your hero? If you’re aged 9 to 14 and want to support Armed Forces Day, you can enter our art competition with the chance of winning a VIP day out with the Royal Navy for you and a friend.

We want you to draw a picture of your hero. It could be your favourite footballer, superhero, mum or dad or even someone in the military - let your imagination run wild! You can sketch, paint, create a collage… see our terms and conditions for full details. Then scan or take a picture of your entry and upload it to this Flickr group.

The closing date is 26 June, with the results announced on 3 July. The winning entry will be chosen by an expert panel, including artist Arabella Dorman, who in 2006 went to Iraq and recorded on canvas the day-to-day life of troops out there.
