Oh, and here's an idea ... if your computer has a webcam, why not do a self portrait using that? Try the "get from webcam" link on the Library tab and you won't even need a camera! You won't get a 'before' photo doing it this way, but that's fine. :)
Here's one I did a few months ago.

You don't have to use that function... just thought I'd throw it out there as an idea. :)

I used zombify to add the texture to my skin, then to distort my Iris, I gooified it then added a red tint and increased the contrast. Then voila!

This is me on Halloween night, so is a very recent photo. My curly hair looks great, but I was helped by Picnik, cause I deleted rebel hair with Threshold. I used the Orton effect too, that probably is my best beauty secret. I'm very proud of this photo. The original one isn't so great. Maybe one day I will show it... Ok I've shown only for learning reasons.

Sorry, no before.......
Nothing fancy on this one.....I applied the polaroid and cross process blue effect, then added a small vignette and finally, text. Oh and I also applied a texture over the top of the image and faded it out.

i painted black and white everything around me, then used faded orton-ish, heat map and modify the "Hue" , again heat map, cross process, adjust the contrast and the exposure, multiplied adjustable threshold and i think i faded it a lil, then mirror framed it (the tint of the frame was blue) and finally used ripple blocks and erased some of the blocks. seems like i had a hard time but it was actually fun!! u could call this an experiment of mine xD lol

painted everything around me in black and white, used faded orton-ish, hardlighted circle splash, panography-ish , adjust exposure and the contrast, then used white matte (strenght 100%, very little size) , mirror framed the pic and.... there u got it! its funny how the flowers in the bed look like clouds!
