We're getting towards the end of the month, so I think the next contest will be started at the beginning of June.
Does anyone have any ideas on a theme?
(oh, and the prize will be announced when the winner is chosen). :)

suggestion: best use of HDR

I don't know if this was a past theme but maybe making pictures look old or maybe have a vintage look...something like that. I know someone can use Sepia, black/white, or 1960's effect but maybe add a little more to give it an edge.

A contest and tutorials on shapes could be a help. There are a lot of options. Is it possible to draw over a section of a photo to give an area a tint with a shape and then paint it back out?

Even if it can be fun I suspect there's a lot more to shapes than drawing blocks over a photo.

I can't find the "copy before/after html to clipboard" box? relating to your tip : You can quickly get the "before/after" HTML to post in the thread when you save your new version in picnik. Just click the "copy before/after html to clipboard" box on the picnik save screen
When I save a photo in picnik, it just asks me where I want to save it. I do know you can save a picture with same title as a new photo, or choose to replace the first one. Is that what you're talking about?

When you choose to Save to Flickr, you'll see a checkbox about the before/after HTML.. you might need to scroll the save box a bit to get to the bottom. Here's a screen capture. Hope it helps.

When I save to flickr, that check box doesn't appear as one of my options. I'm confused?

It only appears if you are starting with an existing Flickr photo. Is that what you are doing?

Sorry for the confusion. The choice is only there if you are starting with Flickr, clicking "edit photo" to open it in Picnik, and then Saving it back to Flickr. If you go directly to picnik.com and load up your Flickr photo there, the copy HTML function is not there.
Let me see about getting it added to that screen too. :)

Thank you, I see that now. But then where do I copy the html after i've checked marked it and saved it?

It gets copied to your clipboard automatically, so when you then come to the thread to post your entry, you can just "paste" and it should be there.

Hi Sarah, at the top of this page, you'll see a menu. Click You>Upload photos and videos ( flickr.com/photos/upload/ ). Once the photos have uploaded, click each one to load the photo page, click the "all sizes" button above the photo, choose the "small size", copy the html in the box #1 under the photo and then paste it into the contest thread.

And do people only vote once for 3 pictures?

tulips_234 wrote vote for their own pic? We assume that everyone likes their own photos, otherwise they wouldn't enter them, eh? So, please don't vote for your own... if you do, we won't count it and you'll end up with one less vote. :)

Just a reminder... photos that you post to the Picnikers group (and to the monthly theme contests) must follow Flickr's guidelines... in other words, they must be photos that you've taken yourself (or have explicit permission to use). Please don't post picniked versions of photos you've collected from the internet. :)

I see that Jennerator and Goldscale's Breast Cancer Awareness photos haven't gotten kicked from the pool....the ones in bras. So is it safe to assume that those meet the safe filter for the group, and safe standards by Flickr? I'm trying to gauge what's appropriate here so I know what I can post for the contest. Please advise, though I know it's all subjective. :-)

Flickr's safe "guidelines" aren't written in stone... but my interpretation would say those images are safe.
Flickr staff have said, "naked boobs and bums = moderate" ... sexual situations? probably moderate or restricted.
a photo of a woman in a bra, to my mind, is safe depending on the context.
does that help?

Hi Brenda, I was wondering if you have a cut off time for the December contest. I'm going on holiday next week and I was going to use those photos for the contest but If you're cutting it off soon I will do something else. Thanks.
