About Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk: BOGOTA COLOMBIA

This group is to share photos of the beautiful capital of Colombia, the city of BOGOTA, starting with the Photo Walk of August 23rd, 2008
Bogota was founded in 1538 by the Spaniard Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada.
Today is a wonderfull city of over 8 million people.
Located in a plateau at 2640 m.a.s.l (8.000 feet a.s.l), the city is sourrounded by flowers mainly roses and carnations grown for export.
With over 100 higher education institutions and over 200.000 students from all over Colombia and the neighbourg countries Bogota has been named Athens of South America. The medical system is also world known by its quality and coverage.
Bogota is located 800 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and 800 miles from the Pacifc Ocean in the geographical center of the Country.
