Same tip as above. And maybe some shadow under the animals?

The crude cutout shapes are not attractive. Maybe keep the photos with their original backgrounds and arrange them with borders. Try a solid background. Resize the images so the animals are in reasonably close size proportion to each other. The pawprints don't look like pawprints; maybe take a photo of one, enlarge it and arrange it with the animal images.

And please don't post large images in threads, it forces viewers to scroll.

To be honest I would ask her to take some better photos. Tell her she needs to be down at their level and ask her to avoid using the flash. Also encourage her to use the highest resolution her camera will take.

I agree with cropping the original pictures to avoid to cutout look. And lose the distracting background.

Sally's right though, you're really limited by working from poor photos.

I don't like the selective colour in two of the eyes, and the left image looks squished. The frame shapes and orientation would be more effective without feathering. But, I'm a compulsive perfectionist and this is a great design. For the pets, I'd choose a less formal font and use a coloured background.

i agree that the third pic should have colored eyes too...

but i like the feathering

and i also thing a "cooler" font should be use :)

tho the brightness of three pix should be the same.. the bottom right one is alot brighter than the others...

Re font... considering it's a teenager, I'd go for a distressed, gothic or celtic font, or some combo of two or three of them. In lime green, tangerine or electric blue!

Why did you use the bottom photo twice? could you not have used a different photo, maybe one of her right profile or full face? I think the arrangement looks unbalanced. I also agree with Myrwin, a teenager style font would be better and a that left image is squashed and also duller than the rest. Nice first attempt though but don't hang up the manual just yet.

i agree the bottom pic should both have eyes coloured also if you dont have another pic of her you can just flip the canvas so it looks different new font too other than that good work

yea u should give the font an outer glow thats the same colour as the font, that would look good i think, and colouring the eyes of the 3rd portrait

Might have been better to just delete the post and send a private message? Dunno about the rest of the members, but I'm thinking it had to be something really, really nasty :-)
