CS4: How do you do Contact sheets, picture packages and PDF presentations.

view profile

Dupmeister says:

I just upgraded to CS4 from CS2 and I am suddenly missing half of the menu options that were a part of my daily workflow.

In CS2 I could easily find the pdf presentation, contact sheet II and picture package options under the automate menue under File.
that menu is now missing and I cannot seem to find it anywhere else in the program.

can anyone help me on this one? I NEED those functions.

thanks bunches.

All of those features have been moved to the Bridge portion. Just open up bridge, and have your particular photos in a seperate folder....then you can do all of the contact sheet, PDF stuff from there. You can also set up privacies, so your work can only be viewed and not downloaded if you like. Hope it helps you out some.

Tr22lo: where on Adobe's site would I find that download? I looked and couldnt find anything that matched the description.

Here Dupmeister, this should help you out:

I do prefer the older way myself. If you still have CS2 installed, you could do them through that too.

My hat is off to you tr33lo. I installed the older version of contact sheet and picture package and I am happy as a clam.
so far I find CS4 to be rather smooth but I have yet to see any ground so far I find CS4 to be very smooth and sleek but on a pound for pound basis I would probably kept CS2.

thank you both for the help.

you will change your mind after using CS4 after a while.
also Bridge is a lot more powerful and there is lots you can do without even opening photoshop.
especially opening Raw image via Bridge and editing.

Some features appear to work differently when used from Bridge. Photomerge, for instance, seems to make a better job when used from CS4 > File > Automate, rather than Bridge > Tools. I like the idea, because it is a lot easier to locate the required files from Bridge, but it honestly seems to work better from within CS4.

Of course, we all know that Adobe chose to leave a lot of the tools in the Goodies folder on the install DVD. In fact I just popped mine in the drive to make sure I was giving correct info, and was reminded about the video tutorials that come with the program. I love CS4 to death, but am sure I still don't make the most of the new features, so those videos are going to reval a trick or two.
