Sunday, April 11, 2010. 9AM-Noon. Self-portrait Head shot Meet-up. Cloisters Park, Morro Bay, CA.
Everyone needs head shots of themselves for bios, avatars, Flickr icons, etc., but few of us have decent photos of ourselves that we can use. This meet-up will fix that!
In this meet-up, everyone can take portrait head shots, and/or have their portrait photo taken by others.
You need to use at least a free Flickr account to effectively participate in this activity.
All keeper images should to be posted in the special Flickr Group "Photomorrobay Headshots"
www.flickr.com/groups/photomorrobayheads/
with the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 Generic license assigned (this allows profit- or non-profit uses). - see creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/deed.en
Everyone wanting a photo of themselves should bring a piece of paper with their name, e-mail address, and Flickr handle written with a large magic marker letters so that photogs can take a documentary shot to know who's who for tagging and descriptions.
Add the unique Flickr tag "Photomorrobayheads" and the subjects "Flickr ID" to all photos added to the group.
Individual creativity will drive this event. We don't claim to be experts in portrait photography, nor even know how to say "Cheese." So, bring you expertise, equipment, and ideas or experiments to test out and have fun. This isn't limited to head shots - if you want to set up a "head-stand station" or whatever go for it.
We are hoping a few participants will set up "stations" around the green lawn area so members can rotate between stations.
The Cloisters City Park is on the ocean side of Route 1, across from Spencers Market, just south of San Jacinto Avenue, and north of Route 41 and the Morro Bay High School.
