About Photography Hints (what I was thinking ...)
This group was set up to allow photographers to explain what they were thinking when taking some of their photos. By clarifying what they intended in relation to the lighting, the depth of field, the focus, the alignment and composition - it should help others looking to enhance their own photography.
Most of the group will be through the discussion forum, rather than the photo pool.
How to participate ...
An existing topic:
- Let's say there is a thread to which you would like to add a comment
- Post a comment within that thread, ideally with a link to your photo where you used the same technique
- Explain, how you composed the shot, using the technique.
A new topic:
- Select a topic/technique (that has not already been started!)
- Start an appropriately named thread
- Include the image (not too big!) in the text of the thread - you can copy the "img src" HTML from one of my threads)
- Include a link to the photo page too
- Describe why you took the photo that you did, in a way which would help others duplicate the technique.
In both cases, please also add that photo into the group pool, and include a reference to this group on your photo page.
Ideas for other topics ...
Other themes that should at some point be covered include:
- Framing (complete frames)
- Framing (hinted frames)
- Night shots
- Depth of Field (close focus)
- Depth of Field (distant focus)
- Speed (fast shots)
- Speed (slow shots)
- Concept contrasts
- Macro shots
- others?
