yep, the end image is what I'm interested in. As long as it's all done by you (not just Craig.... I mean you the group member) then that's fine.

ok, time to decide........ this is a really tough one.
Diggler - I like the close up of the red petals, the lighting works nicely on them.
K R Fry - An excellent shot of tomatoes. Would be quite a saleable image through a stock agency I reckon. The depth of field is perfect.
Craig - excellent shots, Are you sure you are a beginner :-) They are really well lit, the cookie tin is my favourite of the three.
Olympiad - A nice shot, the red jacket and the path into the picture work really well, I just wonder if positioning the kid on the thirds, more towards the left, would have improved things. Good shot though.
Lindy - A creative shot. Was it put together in photoshop or was it done another way. I think positioning the balloon a little further away from the edge would have helped a bit.
Marie - Lovely Sky! I'm not too sure about the houses though. Making more of the tree silhouette with the sky in the background may have worked well. Still a great shot of an amazing sky though.
So, which one wins the 1gb card? Well it's difficult to choose between the tomatoes and the cookie tin, two totally different shots. Both excellent.

gaz- my first time entering a contest so thanks for the feedback. The photo was just cropped and did a reversed focal b/w thing to it. The original is below.
