About A Thousand Pics
A Thousand Pics encourages photographers of all skill levels and brands of camera to take and share their favourite photographs with other members of the Thousand Pics community. Photographers may choose to follow the familiar "photo a day" discipline using the Word of the Day as inspiration. Alternatively, participants may choose to select a word from the archives and add their own interpretation to the existing collection.
Our goal at A Thousand Pics is to allow photographers to develop their skills and share their work while at the same time paying homage to the breadth of interpretation possible within a single word.
How to Participate with A Thousand Pics
1. Take a photograph interpreting (literally or figuratively) the Word of the Day.
2. Upload your photo to Flickr and add it to the PhotoDictionary group.
3. Tag the photo with the word of the day. (e.g. wend)
4. Feel free to announce your contribution on sites such as Twitter, including a link to your photo and the tag #atp_wordoftheday (e.g. #atp_wend). You can always mention and follow @aThousandPics, too!
The Fine Print
1. Get out there and take new photos rather than using an old capture. There is no such thing as a "late" submission, so don't cheat yourself by reworking something you took previously.
2. While we welcome submissions to archived words, please do not flood the pool with dozens of photos all at once. It's not fair to the other photographers whose work is bumped off the first page.
