About Editorial Photo Illustration

This group is for anyone who creates photo illustrations for newspapers, magazines, or even just for personal expression.

Illustration is a word that has different meanings in different circles, but here it will be taken to mean any photo that is a fictional creation used to visually communicate a story, concept, idea or feeling. This may include everything from simple staged situations to full-blown digital composites. Any and all techniques are allowed here, but they should be photo-based.

Note that this group is not for portraits, fashion or food photos. Simply posing a subject, using studio lighting or heavily stylizing photos does not constitute an illustration. It must communicate an abstract story, concept or idea.
