These are really great news. I had no time to test yet, but I guess other people are waiting to try your packages.
Thank you very much.

A PPA is really great (though I’m primarily on Windows myself). It works flawlessly on my my 32bit 10.10 installation.
Just one question: Currently whenever I release new Windows binaries I also upload a source tar.bz2 (snapshot of the hg revision I built from) . Is this in any way helpful for you?

@Brother.John
In fact, i can do snapshots myself. But for clarity in the archive, it seems to be a good idea.

Well, the revision the release was built from is mentioned in Photivo’s about box, in the changelog, in the archive file name and the download description. I always hope that’s enough for everyone to grab the correct source code from the repo. :-)

Please uninstall previous version of Rawtherapee, then install my. The point is, somebody has split it in two packages - rawtherapee and rawtherapee-data (you have to uninistall both). My package contains 'all in one'.

Dhor and Mike,
I just did test photivo using the Dhor maverick debs on aptosid, debian stable aka squeeze and mint. Aptosid is a distro that is based on debian sid.
for debian stable aka squeeze, aptosid and mint you need from de Dhor reposetories:
32 bit
graphicsmagick_1.3.12-Q16-1dhor~maverick_i386.deb
liblcms2-2_2.1-1dhor~maverick_i386.deb
photivo_20110312hg-1dhor~maverick_i386.deb
libexiv2-10_0.21-1dhor~maverick_i386.deb
64 bit
same files but the 64 bit variants ;-)
And photivo installs and runs nice on debian stable and higher versions, aptosid and mint
I suggest we offer at google code a 32 bit and a 64 zip or tar file with those deb included and a short readme file how to install.
I did test it also on debian stable aka squeeze and to bad. when trying to install i come into a dependencie hell. aka when i try to install libexiv2-10 i get broken packages. So on debian photivo runs on experimental and sid but not testing or stable. To night I will do an another try on debian stable
Update: it also runs on debian stable :-D, and even very nice using the Dhor debs. That means it it is most likely it will run on all debian derivates :-P. This prolly means that the maverick debs also run on 10.04. Did not test it yet, but most likely. Which should mean only one version needs to be maintained for all debian derivates.
Did you guys did think of offering the Dhor debs to debian? As that would be great if. As photivo runs on debian stable. If photivo gets into Debian It will be auto in a lot of distro's. It will be a long road but would be great imo.
We also could post photivo at kde-apps.org/ and gnomefiles.org/ offering the compile howto and the debs and the rpm's. An even more sophisticated way would be we make a apt-get repositorie. just with photivo and all depedencies until photivo is in the debian repositories see update on mint etc install

@headlights2
Thanks for your tests. My PPA contains Photivo builded for Ubuntu, and - yes, my packages can (and could) work for Debian, but it's 'rough way'. But as an old fashion purist (:)) I would prefer to build Photivo (and deriveratives) strict for Debian.
And before i'll go step forward to build such a packages, there's new light in the tunnel - the DEX project (http://dex.alioth.debian.org/). In simply words - 'let's make Ubuntu packages/programs work in Debian too'. I've got feedback to take my packages to Debian SID - so we've to wait a little while (I hope).

Dh0r you have mail.
I ll give my skype. I did look for the steps to take how to get photivo in Debian. Or are you allready further?
Btw to install photivo on debian, mint and aptosid it is very easy using your debs. I did test with squeeze and it does work exellent. I will check also on aptosid and mint. but i am rather sure it will work also exellent.
Until photivo is in debian one can do:
add to /etc/apt/sources.list or add in synaptic
or in case of aptosid. add to /etc/apt/sources.d/debian.list
deb ppa.launchpad.net/dhor/myway/ubuntu lucid main
deb-src ppa.launchpad.net/dhor/myway/ubuntu lucid main
lucid would be best as it most close to squeeze and is LTS allthough the maverick debs do run also just fine.
then
sudo or su
apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 93330B78
and everybody using a debian derrivate can install it using your debs.
btw your debs run really exellent on debian squeeze. It runs on squeeze even faster and more smooth then on my 10.10 box :-(
p.s
now they have to compile so until Photivo is in the reposetories this would help a lot of peeps i suppose.

Thanks guys, for your work.
Photivo is already on qt-apps, it's all the same network, so it probably just needs to be linked: qt-apps.org/content/show.php/Photivo?content=138214

tdt.sjtu.edu.cn/ailurus/
?

I've added repository to the Ubuntu-Tweak list.
Ailurus seems to be a little outdated (last version around 2009).

Great
About Ailurus. Latetst version compiled for 10.10 at 29-Oct-2010 09:26 2.1M. see: launchpad.net/~ailurus/+archive/ppa/+packages
You seem to be tricked by a random post.
I think it is still active and not waste to try to get Photivo there aswell.
About Debian Is it needed we seek for a debian develloper who wants to sponsor the project, or is that allready done or not nessesary?
See: www.debian-administration.org/articles/181

Thank you for your work.
Is the build process for the PPA automated or do you have to do it by hand each time?
