About Philadelphia Spectrum

A pictorial tribute to The Philadelphia Spectrum, America's Number One Showplace! The Palatial Home of some of Philadelphia's biggest and best Sports and Entertainment Memories from 1967, when the building opened, up until 2005, when the Philadelphia Phantoms won their second Calder Cup Championship.

In its heyday, the Spectrum was home to the Philadelphia Flyers and the Philadelphia 76ers, and hosted countless Concerts, Boxing Events, and College Basketball Games, as well as the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus and the Ice Capades, when they came to town.

It was a magical, intimate place to witness an event, and man, that place could rock.
