I got an request today to use some of my Philadelphia photos for a site/service called Schmap. I'd never heard of it, although from the site it appears pretty cool.

Has anyone else ever heard of this site/service, or been solicited for your Philly photos?

Yep, I just got asked for 19 shots. It looks to be free for the end user so I'm game.

I was asked for a couple I took in San Francisco, and apparently they're in the guide now. Haven't downloaded it yet though...

They link to your stream and give you credit, so I figured why not.

I got asked about a half dozen or so as well. It looks to be a Windows-only thing, so I'll never see it. I also suspect it might be more of a Who's Who sort of deal.

What do you mean it's a Who's Who sort of deal? In that they'll solicit the photogs or users?

And sort of related, I was "selected" for that stupid Who's Who crap. Everyone at my school saw through that one.

Ok...maybe the Who's Who comparison was a bit strong. It's more akin to the people who leave comments saying "this picture would be a great addition to my blah blah blah group". Yea, it might be, but the comment mostly just feels like an advertisement for the group, rather than praise for the photo.

Or I could just be in a bad mood this morning.

i was contacted by them as well, for some shots i took while i was in madrid. i wrote to the woman doing it. she seemed cool so i agreed to let them use my shots...very disappointed they are only set up for windows though. supposedly mac version is in the works.

Well, it definitely sounds legit - although I found their picture choices to be a bit odd... c'est la vie. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Yeah, I got solicited (for just one photo...harrumph!) And I was surprised at this choice, since I've taken better shots, even got better shots THAT DAY! Oh well...

Havana afternoon...

Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, it's a beautiful place, and the food is pretty good. The drinks, even better. But mostly I think it's my friend Kiki. Such a hottie. :-)
