Welcome to Photographers in Perth where photographers from Perth, Western Australia, can show off photos and discuss photography. PIP welcomes all new members, whether student, professional, hobbyist, enthusiast, or absolute beginner. We're all friends here! Members of the group regularly get together for organised (or impromptu) meets in and around Perth, where everyone is welcome and the only real aim is to have fun and enjoy photography.
Naturally, being such a large, active and diverse group, we do have a few ground rules in addition to the do's and don'ts of the Flickr Community Guidelines. To ensure a happy stay with this community, please also abide by the following:
Group Guidelines Joining the group: As PIP has had a number of faux-Flickr accounts in the past using it to spam group posts with ads, and a few unpleasant experiences with people who "troll" the group to incite mischief, we have had to moderate all new memberships. We ask that all prospective members have a relevant icon/avatar, a short biography about themselves in their profile and at least a couple of photos they've taken themselves, or of themselves.
Having these things will make it easier for PIP Administrators to accept your application. If you do not have these already set up, it will take time for our Admins to contact you, then time for you to organise these details.
Members without the above will be removed from the group by one of the Admins. This is primarily for reasons of security and to prevent inappropriate lurkers or 'anonymous' discussion 'trolls'.
Group pool photos: The PIP Group Pool allow photos flagged "Safe" and "Moderate" (but not photos flagged "Restricted"). The onus is on members and visitors to ensure that, if they do not want to see photos marked "Moderate", that they set their SafeSearch setting to "On". By doing this, you will not see photos rated "Moderate" in the group pool.
If any member notices a photo that has been incorrectly flagged, please contact one of the moderators.
Netiquette: While passionate discussion is encouraged, please keep the language civil and family friendly (aka. no swear words which would make your Nana’s ears curl :-) ). Inciting flame wars, personal attacks, sexual & racial vilification will in no way be tolerated and such comments will be moderated or deleted without warning.
Apart from this, we hope you'll have a good time here and join in the discussion and also our social and photographic activities.
