Some explanations about the spirit of this group

Everyone can take photos.
Since the beginning of the digital era, any person with a good camera, a good lens and a bit of knowledge of any image-retouching program will call himself a photographer.

Photography is more than that. It is us, our subjectivity, our brain and guts, and how we project it on reality... The interaction between us and our environment, the dialogue that happens at a single moment, the moment reality becomes our image.

This group encourages the ones who practice photography as a means to understand themselves and the world. The curious ones. The sensitive ones. The ones who think.

Superficiality doesnt have its place here :

If a photo contains a person, this person shouldn't be posing, and ideally, not being aware of the camera. It's about how we feel the environment, not about how people react to our lens.


Photos that illustrate an idea that everyone agrees on, don't have their place here :

We are not here to display general concepts like love is great and breakups are sad. Or loneliness is lonely and racism is bad.

Personal Reality is here to show subtle parts of reality, the greys parts, not the black vs white ones.
