About Peoplelessness
This group contains photographs exploring the idea that the social imagery of a place perpetuates 'peoplelessness'. Many places are photographically portrayed (often for means of tourism) as being empty. People are forgotten and the main attractions are the built and natural aesthetics. This group focuses on urban environments. Places that are created, maintained and frequented by people are often photographed 'peoplelessly'.
Photographs displayed here demonstrate this theme and challenge the typical concept of a 'tourist photo' by including areas that demonstrate both 'peoplelessness' and 'undesirability' and 'alternative tourist photographs' that include people!
