About Bus UK Pennine Motor Services of Gargrave

The long established firm in the Yorkshire Dales," Pennine Motor Services" also known as Simpson of Gargrave. Were based in Gargrave.A small town about 15 miles or so from Skipton.They also had small depots in Skipton, Settle, Ingleton. And at one time Barnoldswick. The former Ezra Laycock premises there. Their main operating base is now to be found in Skipton.At the former Ribble Motor Services Depot of many years.
Pennine`s main trunk route was the Skipton to Lancaster /(Morecambe once a day to keep the license up) service. Now discontinued past Giggleswick/Settle.
Pennine Motor Services serve many of the numerous villages around Gargrave and Skipton area`s.Their main trunk route operated now is the Skipton to Burnley service..

During the Summer of 1972, it was announced that the company of Ezra Laycock Ltd. had been sold to Pennine Motor Services of Gargrave, the exact time of the transfer being fixed as midnight on the 11th of August. This Pool is a collection of photo`s of Pennine Motor Services.One of my favourite bus operators. And Ezra Laycock vehicles both very well known independent bus operator`s in the Yorkshire Dales.

Most,but not all, of the Ezra Laycock photo`s were taken for me by a close friend who drove for Ezra Laycock on a Saturday, Driving over a hundred miles there and back just to drive for this operator.There may be an odd photo with dubious ownership.If anyone can prove it`s their photo I will happily give them credit or remove it.
