Shoot Fleet Week ships and Fun Fair Rides along the Tom McCall Waterfront. Enter your images (or other Rose Festival images) in the PDX flickr group's photo contest for Thursday June 16th.

Where: East Bank Esplanade where the steps that come down from the Burnside Bridge meet the ramp that comes up from the currently closed due to high water ramp from the floating section of the Esplanade.

Sounds great and plan to be there. Wondering where the best parking for this area is, any suggestions?

At along SE 3rd near SE Couch is the closest parking... after that SE Salmon near the Esplanade is a bit of walk but a nice one and it's likely we'll be walking down that way to cross the Morrison Bridge. On the SW side there is a Smart Park at SW Naito and SW Davis (entrance on SE Davis) or the Smart Park at 818 SW 4th Ave near SW Alder.

Fun meetup! Weather was nice, pretty sunset, Journey could be heard playing live on stage at the Fun Center. ;-)

Yes very fun, in-spite of my mistake about the meeting location - it should have been on the Esplanade south of the Morrison not Burnside bridge - since the ferris wheel is by the Morrison - Doh! But it turned out that some of the nicest views of last nights sunset were from the Esplanade just north of the Morrison anyway.
Definitely worth revisiting before Rose Festival ends...
