About The Parmelian Photography Group
This group will function as a guided workshop and a discourse community for everyone to critique and receive critique from others on photography we produce over the next few weeks. The goal is to grow as photographers by exploring and practicing themes and techniques used by classic and contemporary photographers. Digital or film black and white images will be the standard for this group. However, color will be accepted and celebrated when used with discretion. Group members will to turn in one Project every Friday for six weeks. A supplementary and open-ended Review and Emulation may be turned in as well and is highly recommended in order to expand knowledge and understanding of classic and contemporary photography for you and those who read it. Each week group members will receive feed back from me and are encouraged to critique their peers.
First, by this Friday, I would like everyone to sign up for a basic flickr account if you don't already have one. The basic account will be fine for this workshop, a Pro account is not necessary. If you would like to pursue the Pro account, that is welcomed. Then please post two to three photographs of yours that you'd like to share. Lastly, in the "Description" section of your profile, tell us which artists inspire or influence you (ANY type of artist). Show us a few examples of their work.
The first group Project will be due next week, Friday July 29th at 7pm. Projects will be due every week before Friday at 7pm and I will have critiqued them by Sunday at 7pm.
Details of what a "Project" and a "Review and Emulation" entail will be posted soon. The first project will be something like: post 3-6 images that capture mood.
