About paper + wire magazine
the house where you were born and the horse you rode in on
"To create is the justification that we exist. Without hindsight and without being masters of an inevitable future, we have to accept the obviousness that we are what we create. The need to create stems back from our ancestors and will carry on to our children and our children’s children (and so on and so forth until “global warming” kills us all). Whether it be art, craft, music, or written word, we run the gamut with our originality and eagerly dispose of the myth that there will never be any new ideas in these genres. It is for those that create (and those that love the creations) that this series was born.
paper + wire is a collaboration of artists/graphic designers, chefs, photographers/models, musicians, crafters/DIYers, seamstresses/fashion designers, writers, critics, humans, dogs, etc. We mainly justify this vast display of our knowledge in hopes that you will be inspired and might also learn something in the process. We are not “pros” at what we do (although some would beg to differ). We are scientists who experiment in order to save the world, one creative genius at a time. It’s as simple as that"
This is a group made for paper + wire magazine, a soon-to-be published(and by published, we mean that we will be attempting a printing and have a web-based one too) magazine chock full of diy crafts, food, fashion, music, film, etc. If you would like to contribute something to the next book, join up and let us know what you have in mind! (see rules)
We are planning the second issue for the fall/winter of this year, if we can get enough submissions. We are currently seeking a new printer for the magazine, so if you know of any good companies, please let us know. Otherwise, we will be limited to PDF format for now. We are still non-profit. :)
Also, if you don't have anything to contribute but just want to show support and see what is contributed, join anyway! :) Please spread the word about us! Thanks so much, guys!
xoxo
We are currently partnering with Kickstarter.com, so we will keep you updated on the project as it comes together. issue #1 will be available soon for purchase (at cost of printing + shipping, of course; we are still nonprofit) in our etsy store (paperandwiremagazine.etsy.com).
Also, feel free to add us on myspace.com and be sure to spread the word and check out paperandwire.com for extras and a PDF of the 1st issue. We are fledgling publication and need all the help we can get. :)
