About Butterflies, Moths, and Dragonflies of Pennsylvania
Welcome to the Butterflies, Moths and Dragonflies of Pennsylvania! This group is devoted to photographs of lepidoptera and odonata NATIVE to and taken in the keystone state. Hopefully your visit here will be rewarded with a greater appreciation for the variety and beauty of these small creatures.
PLEASE READ THE RULES. There are not many, and they are simple.
Group members and visitors might want to check Odonata Central to see if their dragonflies have been listed on the checklist for the county in which they were photographed? To do this, go to www.odonatacentral.org/ and click on "Checklists" and go from there. You can then submit any records for a species not yet on the particular county's list! Much the same can be done for butterflies at www.butterfliesandmoths.org/, but here you will need to click on "Get involved" to see how to submit a record. This is a great opportunity to make a contribution to science!
One of our members, AvianPursuits, has created county lists for butterflies that are possible for a specific county, but have not yet been documented at the BAMONA site. You can obtain these lists at his website here: http://avianpursuits.com/Butterfly_NotSeen.html
