Hey- Did you get your roll ups at the store or online? I haven't seen them there before so I'm wondering if they are tucked somewhere I don't know about! Can't WAIT to start this with you!

I actually bought mine online because they were 40% off at the time. which was a steeper discount than in-store. They have them in the store though. They keep them on that wall behind the registers (under where they have the quilts hanging).

I'm excited to join you! I ordered my roll up already and just need to figure out the coordinating fabrics. Too bad there's not a layer cake with all the perfect matching prints :)

I was wondering if it's possible to order online from Fabric Depot but pick up in the store? I live locally but I have yet to see these on the shelf. I would hate to pay shipping on something that is only a 15 min drive away.
I love the idea for this quilt along, thanks! I think it might be a perfect way for me to use my Wonderland layer cake.

I've done that before. They have an option in the checkout where you can choose "pickup in store."
But, if you're going to use a Wonderland Layer Cake, I'm not sure I would suggest getting a Kona Roll-Up to use with it. I think you might get a better look if you take your Layer Cake into the store and choose a few different solids that match it. (You can cut several strips from each -- just buy enough that you can cut 40 total strips.)
Good luck!

Wow, I love the look of this Paintbox Quilt, its looks really fun! Now for the really silly question (sorry!) but do I need 3 roll-ups in the three different colour ways or do I need a different amount?

I can't believe it's only the 9th of January and I am joining another quilt along but this I can't resist. I loved the Mod Sampler Quilt along so much that I know this one will be a great experience. I just ordered my roll-up online so as soon as it gets here ( I ordered the Dusty) I'll search my stash for just the right prints.

I just ordered 2 rolls. I may go back for more. It's hard to beat 35% off.
MyCalicoHeart - you need 1 roll but other fabrics to go with it.
Here's the link to the post for the supplies www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2010/01/paintbox-quiltalon...

Elizabeth, do you mind telling us which rollup palette you used for your samples?
I'm in love with anna maria's raspberry polka print...I keep sneaking it into my quilts...
Thanks!

I didn't actually use rollups for the sample blocks -- just strips cut from my stash.
The solid in the raspberry blocks was cerise, which I believe is included in the Classic palette. However, the dot print is not AMH, it's one of the Michael Miller Ta Dot prints. (The MM is a little bit lighter and brighter than the AMH.)
Hope this helps!

I'm bummed. I ordered the Bright and Classic roll ups from Fabric Depot yesterday right after the supplies list was posted. I got a call this afternoon saying they are sold out and don't know when they will get more in. However, they are still showing as available on their website...

That's too bad about Fabric Depot! It looks like they still have them at Fat Quarter Shop though. I can't link directly, but if you search for "kona" on the linked site, they should come up.

Also, Fabric Shack has the 42 new colors roll. (Again, not a direct link, but you can search for "kona roll" to find it.

Hancocks of Paducah also has them:

kucorrinne: I just ordered from Fabric Depot too, so I'm guessing they won't be able to fill my order either. Thanks for the link to Fabric Shack Elizabeth, I just dashed over there and ordered the new 42 colors roll. Perfect actually, because that's the one I really wanted instead of the Brights.

Equilter has all the versions (bright, dusty, classic, dark and pastel) from $21.95 to $23.95. Right now they are still a little busy from their end of the year super clearance and are catching up on orders so don't expect to get them super fast. I've ordered from equilter.com more times than I can remember and I have not had one thing wrong with any of my orders. I've even gotten to the point that I don't even have to check to make sure the yardage is right because it always is. I love that 2% of my order goes to a charity/cause of my choice. I always recommend them.
Somewhere Sewing has a roll but I can't tell if it's the bright or classic or what but it's selling for $30. www.somewheresewing.com/cgi-bin/Store/store.cgi?cart_id=3...

KIMWOOLF: thanks for posting the link to the equilter roll ups. 4 days ago when I first posted that equilter had them and at what price, and also another store, I totally forgot to put the link in for the equilter ones. They are a little difficult to find sometimes.
