About Mississippi Architects: Overstreet & Town

It is not an overstatement to say that the architectural firm of N.W. Overstreet & A.H. Town (1931-1939) brought Modern architecture to Mississippi, and indeed put Mississippi on the map of the national architectural establishment. Their sleek, often concrete forms, moved out of the familiar Art Deco style and into the more geometric and abstract Art Moderne and International styles.

This group will include pictures of the buildings of Overstreet and Town, designed 1931-1939. Be sure to geotag your photos so we can compile a map of the buildings here on Flickr, and if there's a plaque, post a picture of that too.
