GROUP GUIDELINES - Please read before posting or inviting!

This is an invitation-only group for Outstanding Portraits of People and is designed to feature only those images, of a single face, that are outstanding.

Only those images that you regard as outstanding should be invited to join. I want the best of the best! If the photograph does not make you say "Wow!" then it does not belong in this group. The photo should be primarily of the face.

The administrator may invite any image she regards as outstanding and will accept images invited by others into the pool at her sole discretion, and has sole veto power over invited photos.

The definition of outstanding is:
1. distinguished from others in excellence
2. having a quality that thrusts itself into attention
3. of major significance or importance

Images can be posted by invitation only, so please post an image only if you see the following in the comments:

If you are invited once, it's only for that specific image. Every individual shot needs to have the invitation. When requesting membership after having a photo invited, please attach link to invited photo.

As a member, you are encouraged to find and invite photos, but you cannot invite your own image. If you have any doubt about the acceptability of a photo you're considering inviting into the group, or have one of your own that you think should be invited, please first post it in the "Blatant Self (or Other) Promotion" thread BEFORE you invite it. This way, if I deem it not suitable for the pool, you won't have to retract your invitation.

**What I am trying to achieve**

I am looking for the cream of the crop, images that touch and inspire you.

When you receive an invitation, it means that you have achieved an exceptional image that deserves to be recognized among your peers.

I would like this to be a group where people encourage each others' photographic skill and find inspiration in high standards of work. So as tempting as it might be to ask someone who is a wonderful person as a way of saying thank you for being such a loyal friend, please don't do that just for the sake of being nice. Please comply with the above guidelines so that this pool will fill with outstanding examples of portrait art.
