This is for the pylons, motorways, arterial roads, roadside cafes, old farms, burnt out cars, suburban sprawl, out-of-town retail units, shopping centres (not too glossy though!), industrial, seaside abandoned boats, piers, seawalls.....the mundane, unusual, quirky, unsettling and brash sides of Essex.

Apply 'the postcard test' before posting - if it is good enough for a postcard then it is too good.

About The other side of Essex (no postcard shots)

This group is for images of Essex that wouldn't make it onto a postcard or into a glossy, county-based lifestyle magazine. This is for the pylonscapes, motorways, arterial roads, roadside cafes, run down or abandoned farms, burnt out cars, suburban sprawl, out of town retail sheds, shopping centres (not too glossy though!), industrial and trading estates....the mundane, unusual, quirky, unsettling and brash* sides of Essex.

As Flickr is global in its reach, here are some pointers regarding location. Essex is an English county situated just to the east of London. It's bounded by the Thames to the south, the North Sea to the east, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire to the north, and Hertfordshire and London to the west.

For the purposes of this group, Essex is considered as the historical entity that includes all the unitary boroughs such as Thurrock and all of east London right up to the River Lee or Lea.

A maximum of four images a day can be posted.
