Questions for the Design Challenge? Please post your questions here.
|
In addition to the soon-to-be-traditional design challenge, this year there is a second challenge, initiated by members of the Origami Tessellations community on Flickr. The challenge topic is "Order vs. Chaos".
The only restrictions for entry are the use of a single sheet of paper, and some form of geometric folding - tessellations, corrugations, or something new. (Surprise us!) Any size or shape of paper may be used.
The entries should either be exhibited at the OUSA 2008 Convention, and/or posted to the Origami Tessellation Design Challenge 2008 photo pool on Flickr, prior to or within the same timeframe as the OUSA Convention (June 27-30).
There will be no judging or awards, other than the enjoyment of participation. As Dr. Lang says: "The purpose of this challenge is to stretch your own abilities and to see what others have done."
Please post your design challenge questions here. Thanks for participating!

Could somebody at the convention please take photos of each entry and post them here? I know there are several of us that won't be there, and we'd like to see everybody's work too!
Thanks.

Yep, I will do my best to do that! They might be pretty basic to start with (my phone can upload to flickr) but I will make sure to take some nice ones for the group as well.

All photos I submitted are of the same model. Should I remove the developmental photos and just keep the inside and outside views?

Firstfold creative origami maybe you haven't understood me........
If you partecipate at the challenge you can add all the photos that you want, but if you don't partecipate you can't add your photo in this pool. Ok? thanks
(this pool it's ONLY for the people that partecipate at the challenge)

Firstfold: Yeah, just photos of the finished model I think. Don't worry about it though! It's still kind of informal at this point.
Andrea, he IS participating in the challenge... He used tessellation patterns on the dice.

Andrew thank you so much.
The problem was that I asked him about the participation in the challange but he never answered me!
Now the mistery is solved....:P

Andrea, I was rechecking the rules to make sure my submission was OK for the challenge. I think it is now so YES - I want the one-sheet version included in the challenge - all photos show this one model included in the challenge group. The photos show various poses (or light) . All photos are of the same sheet of paper. I think these might be necessary for some to understand some of the nuances of the model. A single picture doesn't reveal everything.
Perhaps DIE is more correct than DICE but that title was just a little too deadly !
