About Ostriches

Ostriches are the largest bird in the world. There is only one species. The only places where it can be found in the wild are in Africa and some parts of South-West Asia. However, ostriches are farmed worldwide (for meat, eggs, and feathers). They also appear in zoos, and and in races.

When they reach complete maturity, the males are 6 to 9 feet tall, and the females are 5.5 to 6.5 feet tall.
