About Original lost...

This group was created in order to receive and indicate any digital picture whose native original version - or any higher version in terms of definition, resolution or capacity, such as a Raw document for instance - was lost, erased, stolen, damaged... What a shame, what a pitty, but what a miracle, the picture on Flickr is all you have now.
Any registered Flickr user can participate in moderation tasks (feel free to ask for rights if you don't got them already), no quantitative limit for posts.
NB: please note that you can also indicate a Flickr photo as the best one you have by adding a tag: "original lost".

The idea of this group came from a stupid and quite hard to tell story. I was recently contacted by a guy from a communication agency who wanted to buy one of my photos he found on Flickr (small size). Great! Unfortunately, the original photo was part of a folder I have accidentally erased many months ago. The most ironic part of this story is I erased the folder precisely as I was trying to backup it on an external disk: I have proudly succeeded in cutting the folder full of pictures, but didn't manage to paste it. Never. I still don't know why. The only remaining version of my "precious" is this small thing I have uploaded on Flickr. I hope this group will help to show and realize how "digital life" can be ruthless. Hu? Yeah, my English, too ;-) (22/10/2007)
