About Origamitour (Folding Bicycle Tours)

In this group we collect photos of folding bicycle tours. In Great Britain and Germany these are called origamirides or origamitours.

The participants are mostly owners of sophisticated folding bicycles like Birdy, Brompton, Bike Friday, Dahon, BD-1, Moulton and many others.

There are also origamirides in Japan, Taiwan and Korea, but the name of such events is until now unknown to me (I found Jepy Ride?).

The goal of this group is to share and enjoy pictures of our fellow hobbyists in all parts of the world.

You are welcome to send in photos of folding bike tours, be it tours organised for a large group of people; or be it a folding bike tour on your own or with your partner. As long it is touring with a folding bike.

A few guidelines though:

1. Please make the effort of writing an informative description with your photo. Just be interesting to others.

2. Please tag your photo "origamitour" and "folding bike tour". It makes your photo easier to find.

3. Please not just naked folding bikes. That is what other pools are for. But folding bikes during a trip or tour, or in a beautiful landscape, equipped for touring, are welcome. This pool is about being away for a while!


Leisure-use of folding bicycles also contributes to a more sustainable way of mobility, I think. Enjoying your folding bike hopefully keeps you as often as possible out of the bloody car.
