About The Oregon Trail Souped-up Wagon Contest
**NOW OPEN FOR ENTRIES!**
The travelers of the Oregon Trail embodied the American values of hard work, entrepreneurship and a zest for adventure. Many Westbound pioneers applied these characteristic to their efforts to expedite their journeys.
Early travelers had many ideas as to how they could soup-up their wagons and get to Oregon in a jiffy. Some novice wainwrights devised plans for wind-powered wagons, while other trailblazers thought they might make a profit by creating a hot air balloon business. Human-powered vehicles and wheelbarrows were also employed on this trip.
We think—and hope—that fans of The Oregon Trail have devised some more innovative transportation ideas during their years of playing the game. That's why we're challenging you to depict your most groundbreaking wagon creations.
You can enter our Souped-Up Wagon contest by uploading a picture of the trail mobile of your dreams to our Flickr album between now and February 16th at noon EDT. We can't guarantee that any pseudo-retired rappers will help you out with your design efforts, but we are promising an Oregon Trail t-shirt to the winner.
